Digital Information Services - International Guest Students

The Department of Information at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences offers programmes in »Library & Information Services« as well as »Media & Information«. Each summer semester (March - July) the Department offers international guest students the opportunity to take modules in English on subjects in library and information sciences.

The semester programme »Digital Information Services« is made up of five modules:

• Information Technology
• Knowledge Organisation - Visual Resources Management
• Knowledge Organisation - Web Usability and Accessibility
• Information Services in the European Union
• Workshop »Intercultural Communication«

Students will look at the aspects that are to be considered when setting up a digital information service. They will:

• explore examples of current best practice
• get to know indicators of quality in order to be able to identify bench marks for such services
• engage in practical exercises evaluating and writing reports on digital information services
• critically reflect the information policy of the European Union
