Note: On public holidays shops, banks and post offices are shut in Germany. There is increased traffic on roads, rail and at airports as Germans use these days for long weekends or short breaks.

Note for degree-seeking students:
The orientation period mentioned in this calendar is for guest students (non degree-seeking) only. Some engineering programmes offer a pre-semester maths programme to introduce degree-seeking first semester students to the level of maths required for the programmes. Please check with your department if this is offered for your programme.
The first week of the semester (start of classes) is an orientation week for first-semester degree-seeking students.
