Organization
The international programme is offered during the summer semesters only (March-July). “Digital Information Services” consists of three focal themes:

  • Information technology (6 CPP)
  • Knowledge organisation (12 CPP)
  • Information services (6 CPP)

The focal themes can be divided into one or two modules where each will have the work load of 6 credit points. Tuition will take place at fixed weekdays with a 4 hours’ session each week for each module. As students will take part in 4 modules they are expected to be present for at least 16 hours each week and spend the rest of their working time on reading, practical work and writing papers for assessment.

Additionally an introductory week and special days for excursions will provide students with orientation at a foreign university and with insights into libraries, archives and media houses in Hamburg. The fifth module “Intercultural Communication” is part of the introductory week. The orientation phase plus excursions correspond to a work load of another 6 credit points adding up to 30 credit points with the 4 modules in “Digital Information Services”.
