Keynote von Prof. Dr. Kim Batselier, TU Delft "Tensor networks are a valuable asset for Green AI"

Di., 19.05.2026, 10:00 – 11:00 Uhr
Raum N5.17
Fakultät Life Sciences, Ulmenliet 20, 21033 Hamburg

INVITATION

The ever-increasing demand for mathematical models to make ever-increasing accurate predictions has driven much of AI innovation in the past decades. What is still being ignored, however, is the cost of building such complex models when evaluating different models. This single-minded focus on model performance is red AI. Green AI tries to rectify this situation by also considering the cost of building a model, which can be defined in terms of computational infrastruture, amount of data, time, required budget and so on. In this talk, Prof. Dr. Kim Batselier will explain the key mathematical idea behind tensor networks and how they can be enablers for Green AI.
