Shanghai-Hamburg College e-learning projects

As part of its 'Transnational education – enhancement and excellence through profile building' funding programme, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has supported HAW Hamburg in increasing the learning success of students at Shanghai-Hamburg College (SHC) through the development and integration of e-learning and blended learning components in teaching since June 2014. The funds for this programme stem from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The initial project, SHCneo, ended in May 2018. The DAAD then approved funding for the follow-up project, SHCneo+, for the four years up until 2022.

Since June 2014, e-learning and blended learning tools created especially for the SHC have been in use to support both the language training and the subject-related instruction. The follow-up project SHCneo+ supports 'hybrid lectures' for subject-related language training, train the trainer, IT transfer, and implementation in other degree courses. At the end of the project, the results of this development process will be carried over to the other two degree courses at SHC (Mechanical Engineering and Foreign Trade / International Management) and to other joint degree courses at the Sino-German College that are offered by the USST together with various German universities.
