Digital object memory to protect products

In the context of digitization and and rising flexibility of manufacturing processes (Industry 4.0), creating a decentralized manufacturing process in accordance to demands is consequential. In future manufacturing will change to mostly additive manufacturing. Due to limited control loopholes for creating non legitimate copies of products can then be exploited more easily.
In addition keeping control and track of product alterations over theif life span, e.g. for maintaining, can be challenging. For each modification the spare part must be checked for legitimation and connected with the product mechanically and on the information level. Therefore the reliable and unique identification of spare parts on the information level is mandatory.
The objective of DigitaP is to create a digital procedure to mark products forgery-proof and uniquely with the help of cryptochips and blockchain technology. These will enable digital object memories for each products to generate trustworthy systems.
DigitaP aims to allow tracing of products and related transparent information over their entire life span even across company boundaries due to interoperable blockchain systems.
