The goal

The Department of Economics at HAW Hamburg cooperated successfully with the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow on research and teaching during the period 2015–2020, implementing joint publications, conference presentations, student research projects and international educational projects. These included joint research days and student research projects on selected aspects of 'talent management' at HAW Hamburg, which were open to all students in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at HAW Hamburg. The topics and formats of these events as well as the guest lectures by invited experts from the professional and academic spheres met with great interest on the part of HAW Hamburg students and were subsequently summarised, analysed and published by the project team. The jointly implemented measures were a great success not only in terms of the research results achieved, but also in terms of further synergies that arose from the collaboration. They formed the foundation for a long-term and sustainable partnership which will be institutionalised within the HAW.international project.

The programme

The research project involving HAW Hamburg and HSE is a component of an interdisciplinary project application on the part of HAW Hamburg. The project has total funding of €500,000 and will be active in seven different countries. Within the HAW Hamburg Department of Business, annual joint research days and accompanying student projects on the topics of 'Talent and diversity management' or 'Global cities' will be financed as part of the project. Other project measures include guest lectureships in Hamburg and Moscow as well as research stays at both locations. Three HAW Hamburg students have the opportunity to receive a scholarship for their stay in Russia, which includes a daily allowance and a travel allowance. The application process will be communicated via the HAW Hamburg mailer. Interested students should therefore check their messages regularly.
