Hamburg – In the heart of Europe

North of Germany

Hamburg is located in the North of Germany, up towards the border with Denmark. It lies just south of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, so when the weather is good, lots of people go to the coast for a day at the seaside. Travemünde and Lübeck at the Baltic Sea and the island of Sylt in the North Sea can both be easily reached by train.

Heart of Europe

Germany is in the heart of Europe, so when you come to Hamburg to study you will also have the opportunity to see Europe. Hamburg's international airport links Hamburg to many cities throughout Europe and the budget airlines means a weekend getaway doesn't have to break the bank. Here are some of the great locations just a stone's throw away: Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Copenhagen, Corsica, Crete, Croatia, Dublin, Edinburgh, Faro, Geneva, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Milan, Mallorca, Naples, Nice, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Reykjavik, Rome, Salzburg, Sardinia, Sicily, Stockholm, Thessaloniki, Toulouse, Venice, Verona, Vienna and Zürich.

»...we studied hard, but we also made use of every free day and organized lots of excursions to other towns and cities
