CARPE - Consortium on Applied Research and Professional Education

In November 2011 Hamburg University of Applied Sciences joined forces with the Hogeschool Utrecht, Universitat Politècnica de València und Turku University of Applied Sciences to form the university network CARPE - Consortium on Applied Research and Professional Education. Since then, the network has been continuously developing: Manchester Metropolitan University was a member of the network from 2012 to June 2018. The University of Debrecen was accepted as full member in November 2017. UAS7 - Consortium for USA and Brazil

Since 2005 the HAW Hamburg has been a member of the UAS7 consortium; a consortium of seven German universities of applied sciences  (HWR Berlin, Hochschule Bremen, HAW Hamburg, FH Köln, FH München, FH Münster, FH Osnabrück). The UAS7 has an office in New York (in the same building as the German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD) and their Director helps to develop links with American universities and represents UAS7 at conferences, education fairs, etc. UAS7 website

Since 2013 UAS7 has an office in Sao Paulo with the goal of developing collaboration in research and further education between Brazilian and German universities. In January 2014 UAS7 signed an MOU with the COMUNG consortium of 15 Brazilian universities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. COMUNG Website

UAS7 also cooperates since 2013 with the "Alianza Estratégica", a network of leading Peruvian universities to encourage student and faculty exchange. Alianza Estratégica Website

Global E3 - Consortium for International Engineering Education

HAW Hamburg is a member of Global E3; a consortium of universities with excellence in engineering teaching and research. Recognizing a growing demand for internationally-experienced engineering graduates, a group of leading universities around the world established the Global E3 in 1995. Through participation in the programme, Global E3 graduates gain the necessary foreign language ability, cross-cultural skills, and professional experience to excel in the multinational/multicultural business environment of the 21st century. This unique programme is recognized by the National Science Foundation, AT&T Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education. Global E3 Website

Cumulus - International Network for Design, Art & Media

Cumulus is a unique international network of universities for design, art and media. The HAW Hamburg became a member of the network in 2015. Founded in 1990 Cumulus serves as a platform for cooperations, knowledge transfer and best practice in research and teaching and also cooperates with selected areas of the design industry. Its common objective is to continuously develop the quality of teaching and research through the exchange of students and professors. Cumulus currently has 211 members in 48 countries.
