Strategic research: Health & Nutrition

Like other cities, Hamburg is facing the challenges of a growing multi-cultural population and an aging population. Improving healthcare and services in the region is a topic both of Hamburg’s healthcare cluster and teaching and research at the HAW Hamburg.

Competence Centre Health

Research at the HAW Hamburg looks at health promotion and public health, rehabilitation care, software solutions for improved patient care as well as healthcare in old age. In the field of nutrition projects look at adiposity, food technology and organoleptic tests.

The Competence Centre Health at the HAW Hamburg networks with industry, government agencies, research institutes and service providers in the healthcare sector, organising conferences and transfer workshops. It is also an interdisciplinary body within the university, linking the departments Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Nutrition, Social Work and Nursing & Management to form a pool of knowledge for health and nutrition.

Please contact the competence centre for more information about the research projects in the strategic area of health and nutrition or if you are looking for a research partner. Contact details to the research groups can be found under the link below.
