Informationen für:

Drexel University is a comprehensive global research university ranked among the top 100 in the U.S. It has a strong focus of applied education with co-op programmes which allow students to work and study at the same time.

Research internships

The HAW Hamburg is partnered with Drexel University as part of the UAS7 consortium. Within this collaboration students can complete a research internship in a selection of Drexel University's labs. This opportunity is open to higher level Bachelor and Master engineering students. A list of the labs and research projects can be found here on the UAS7 website.

A typical duration is 5 - 6 months and the start time is flexible, as places become available. The research internships are not paid, but students receive a 1,000 USD scholarship from Drexel University. Drexel will also cover the cost of the J1 visa for the U.S.

There is therefore no set application period or deadline at the HAW Hamburg. Students interested in applying for a research opportunity should prepare a written application (resumé, statement of motivation describing your skills and interests in the research field, letter of recommendation from a professor (optional), transcript of records) and submit it to the Student Exchange Coordinator of their Faculty. The application will be sent to the UAS7 Office in New York, who will forward it to Drexel University and coordinate further correspondence. Students should not contact Drexel University directly.
