Friends of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at HAW Hamburg, Inc.
The study program at the University of Applied Sciences is characterized by a strong practical focus. This connection to industrial and business practice is not only a mission, but one that must be constantly maintained and updated. The Friends Association has been committed to achieving this goal for many years.
The Friends Association includes numerous companies and individuals, particularly from the Hamburg area. Through their membership, they express their special interest in the training of qualified young engineers and computer scientists in the region. Information about developments in the academic departments, as well as invitations to selected events, are sent to members on a regular basis. Member contributions are used to fund special initiatives in the academic departments in an unbureaucratic manner—initiatives for which no funds are available in the university’s regular budget, such as:
* Awards for Bachelor's and Master's Theses
* Organization of conferences and workshops
* Improving laboratory equipment (e.g., for special projects).
