HAW Hamburg views quality development as an ongoing and cooperative process based on both student feedback and dialogue between the Executive Board and the departments.
The Evaluation, Quality Management and Accreditation (EQA) unit initiates and coordinates the processes and instruments for both centralised and decentralised quality management of degree courses and teaching.
These initiatives are supplemented by the projects within HAW Hamburg's ‘Guidance for teaching. Dialogue-oriented quality development for degree courses and teaching’ concept, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the Teaching Quality Pact.
Numerous initiatives offered by the Office for Degree Courses and Teaching and by E-Learning Services, both centrally and in the faculties, support professors and instructors in implementing innovative teaching concepts.
The multi-university project Hamburg Open Online University will generate important impetus and a cultural shift towards more open teaching and learning materials.
