Research Activities at the EMI Faculty

The EMI Faculty brings together expertise from a broad range of technical, design-oriented, and interdisciplinary fields—including media technology, electrical engineering, information technology and signal processing, automation, audio-video-lighting technology, energy technology, and communications technology—under one roof. This is reflected, among other things, in our research projects and publications.

Our staff are involved in various Research and Transfer Centers (FTZ) at HAW Hamburg, as well as in the two Competence Centers for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CC4E) and Smart Systems in Society (CC3S), and actively contribute to the success of the PhD programs Computational Engineering and Applied Data Science (CEADS) and Sustainable Technology and Systems (STS). In addition, the EMI Faculty is involved in the German Center for Digital Tasks (DZdA) and the ligeti center, which bridges the arts, science, health, and technology and provides the public with access to creative research.
