Rethinking Health – for a Stronger Society of Tomorrow

Health and nutrition affect us all – they are among the key challenges of our time. The new Faculty of Health at HAW Hamburg brings together expert knowledge, drives innovation, and strengthens the academic training of healthcare professionals.

HAW Hamburg is responding to major societal changes: demographic shifts, the rise in chronic and diet-related diseases, and the growing need for prevention, healthcare, and health literacy.

The university also sets standards in nutritional science, food safety, and the development of sustainable care systems – with the goal of actively shaping a healthy, resilient, and informed urban society.

Through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches in teaching, research, and continuing education, the faculty contributes to improving human health, developing sustainable production processes, and strengthening societal resilience.

A central element is the Competence Center for Health (CCG), which has been conducting high-level interdisciplinary health research for over 15 years.

The Faculty of Health is a place for modern, practice-oriented education, forward-looking research, and innovative care solutions – located in the heart of Hamburg and making an impact far beyond the city itself.
