History of the RTC Future Mobility and Acoustics
As part of the HAW Hamburg 2030 strategy process, the former four faculties were discontinued in 2025, and the existing departments were reorganized into nine new faculties.
With the end of the former Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, the era of two Research and Transfer Centers with many faculty members involved also came to an end. These centers were subsequently merged under a new joint name within the newly established Faculty Aviation and Automotive Systems (Luftfahrt- und Fahrzeugsysteme LFS).
Accordingly, the inaugural meeting of the new Research and Transfer Center for Future Mobility and Acoustics took place on 14 November 2025, after the newly appointed dean’s office of the Faculty Aviation and Automotive Systems had established the new RTC and scheduled its founding.
