FireSafeMycel Acoustic Measurements

The collaborative project "FireSafeMycel" pursues the development of a functionalized, sustainably produced mycelium-based acoustic composite. The goal is to further develop these acoustically effective, open-pore materials with respect to their fire-safety suitability while simultaneously optimizing their sound-absorbing properties. In this context, HAW Hamburg is responsible for the methodological development of new acoustic testing procedures, the structural-acoustic analysis of the material, and the scientifically grounded assessment of its application potential — particularly in the mobility context.
