DIN standards
DIN standards are established by the German Institute for Standardization and include rules, guidelines and standards that apply to various areas of business and public life.
Access the DIN standards online
In addition to the information on using e-resources, the following applies to DIN standards:
For access on the campus libraries: All HIBS users can search the DIN standards on-site at the campus libraries and read them online in full text. On the catalogue PCs, you can access the Nautos DIN standards database via the "DIN Normen" (DIN standards) tile.
Regarding printing or saving DIN standards: All students, lecturers and staff at HAW Hamburg may print (e.g. in laboratories equipped with printing facilities or at home) or save DIN standards. These options are available exclusively for the non-commercial use of the standards! Unfortunately, printing is generally not permitted in the HIBS campus libraries; this also applies to DIN standards.
Association of German Engineers (VDI) guidelines
Since January 2013, the HAW University Information and Library Service has also had access to the guidelines of the German Association of Engineers (VDI). You can view these guidelines online via the DIN standards database.
VDE standards
The DIN-VDE standards are not accessible via the electronic DIN standards database.
You can access the VDE standards from the catalogue PCs in the campus libraries.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to print, copy, save or send the VDE standards.

Full-text access to the approximately 4 million publications of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) from 1988 onwards:
