The central International Office, together with the local Student Exchange Coordinator on our campus, are your points of contact if you’d like to spend a semester studying or undertaking a work placement abroad. Please have a look at these pages first to get an idea of the options available to you:

Study abroad
The faculty has numerous international university partnerships around the world. Here you’ll find information on ERASMUS (Europe) and overseas programmes, as well as on scholarships and funding, applications and deadlines, student testimonials and FAQs, etc. Once you’ve got an idea of what’s involved, speak to your Student Exchange Coordinator.

Internship abroad
You can also complete your internship semester abroad. Here you will find information about the ERASMUS work placement programme, as well as other programmes and funding opportunities.

Intercultural programmes: To help you prepare for a stay abroad, you’ll find tips on language learning and information about HAW Hamburg’s intercultural programmes here.

It would be great if you’d like to study for a bachelor’s or master’s degree with us! If you have any questions, you’ll find detailed information on the International Office website to help you with your application. You’ll also find guidance on visas, financial aid, and how to succeed in your studies.

If you are studying at one of our partner universities abroad, you have the opportunity to spend an exchange semester or year with us. In our faculty, you can take courses in German as well as in English in the fields of aeronautical engineering and automotive engineering.

You can find all the relevant information under ERASMUS/Visiting Students. We look forward to seeing you!

The Faculty of Aviation and Automotive Systems maintains partnerships with universities worldwide. In the Mobility Online database, you can filter by the partner universities for your degree programme and then find both the ERASMUS universities and the overseas partners that are suitable for you. In addition, the Global-E3 portal lists exchange opportunities for engineering students.

Partner universities A–Z

Important Note: Please note that the database lists all potential partner universities. Unfortunately, this does not mean that you can always study at every partner university listed for your faculty. This may be because the cooperation agreement applies only to certain degree programs, or because your degree program is not offered at the partner university. Check the overseas partner profiles and the ERASMUS program, and then speak with your Student Exchange Coordinator.
