Strategic region Vietnam
The strategic focus on Vietnam began in 2021 with the “HaMoNee – Hamburg/Hanoi Mobile Engineers” project, run by what was then the Department of Automotive and Aerospace Engineering under the leadership of Prof. Dr Dirk Engel. The project (2021–2024) was funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the “HAW.International” grant programme. Further information about the project.
Student exchange
Exchange cooperations with four vietnamese universities were developed as part of the HaMoNee project:
- Hanoi University of Science & Technology (HUST)
- Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH)
- Phenikaa University
- University of Transport Technology (UTT)
HAW Hamburg students have the option of studyin abaroad for a semester at one of these universities. Information about the application process can be found here: HAWeltweit
Vietnamese-German University
The Faculty has a transnational education partnership with the Vietnamese-German University in the field of mechatronics. Within this cooperation, students of the Vietnamese-German University complete their Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics in Vietnam, taught in part by faculty from HAW Hamburg. In addition, HAW Hamburg students may spend an exchange semester at the Vietnamese-German University. Information about the application process can be found here: HAWeltweit
