FORCE

Cities Cooperating for a Circular Economy

The Horizon 2020 project FORCE (2016–2020) intends to minimise the leakage of resources from the linear economy and work towards a circular economy by developing specific eco-innovative, participatory and gender-sensitive solutions to the problems currently seen in the field of waste management, in collaboration with the relevant actors (i.e. municipalities, research organisations and enterprises) and taking action across four material streams. The point of departure consists of four distinctive waste streams generated in and managed by four cities (Hamburg/electronic waste, Copenhagen/plastic waste, Lisbon/food waste, Genova/wood waste).

The FTZ-NK is one of 22 partners in the international project consortium, which is led by the city of Copenhagen.
