Realwind

The Realwind project aims to reduce the power generation losses at onshore wind farms, which currently arise during operation due to various issues. The aim is to develop appropriate algorithms at the Curslack wind farm in a practical, real-world setting using actual data.

Currently, yield shortfalls are caused by mutual waking as well as by regulations related to species protection and noise. Due to such factors, the actual yield of real wind farms often deviates significantly from the ideal conditions or the planned yield expectations. This is a problem that is becoming increasingly significant, particularly in light of the planned massive expansion of onshore wind energy, given the limited available land. The holistic analysis will be conducted using data from the wind measurement mast and LiDAR instruments and will be compared with load and yield simulations.

The Realwind project is funded by the revenues of the CC4E Windenergie GmbH.
