HAW Hamburg Ethics Commission

The ethical aspects of research projects or academic theses have long played an important role in academic life, and their relevance continues to grow: an increasing number of funders such as the EU or the German Research Foundation (DFG), as well as important publication outlets such as journals, require an ethics vote before they commit to funding or publication. The goal of an ethics review is to advise researchers in order to reduce or eliminate potential risks for individuals and the environment before the research has even begun.

The Ethics Commission

The Ethics Commission aims to contribute to good academic practice at HAW Hamburg and makes its expertise available to all HAW Hamburg researchers, providing them with advice on ethical issues and reviewing proposed research projects.
