REPOSIT – HAW Hamburg’s institutional repository

REPOSIT  is the central platform for publishing scholarly documents, research data, and selected theses at HAW Hamburg. It is intended for use by both researchers  and students.

Researchers

In REPOSIT, researchers at HAW Hamburg can publish their scholarly publications and research data. The platform supports open access, increases the visibility of research output, and also serves as the university’s central research information system.

Advantages of REPOSIT

1. Publication of Documents and Data
REPOSIT enables you to publish academic works, research findings, datasets, and more. Whether it's articles, dissertations, project reports, or other scholarly materials – REPOSIT is the ideal platform to make your research accessible.

2. DOI Assignment
Each published document receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring permanent and unique identification and citability. This guarantees that your work is recognized and discoverable worldwide.

3. Metadata Enrichment
To further enhance the discoverability and visibility of your publications, all documents in REPOSIT are enriched with extensive metadata. This metadata describes the content, authors, publication date, and other key information that increases findability in search engines and databases.

4. Search Engine Visibility
Documents published in REPOSIT are easily discoverable via major search engines such as Google, Bing, and especially Google Scholar. This significantly boosts the visibility and citability of your work and supports scholarly exchange on a global scale.

5. Open Access
REPOSIT supports open access to scholarly information. By publishing the full text in our repository, you actively contribute to the Open Access movement and enable researchers and interested readers around the world to access your work freely.

6. Long-Term Archiving
Your published documents are securely and permanently archived by the German National Library (DNB). This ensures that your academic contributions are preserved for future generations. At the same time, we handle the legal deposit of online publications to the DNB on your behalf, as required for all published digital works in Germany.

Entry of Metadata Only (Without Full Texts)

With REPOSIT, you also have the option to document your research output in the form of metadata only. The entries from the former publication database have already been integrated into REPOSIT. These records are now continued in REPOSIT under the collection "Publications without full text". This collection is part of REPOSIT and is maintained as a research information system by the Department of Research and Transfer in collaboration with HIBS.

You can enter records in the same way as for full-text publications. Simply select the collection "Publications without full text" and do not upload any documents. Our video series (in German)  provides a detailed overview of how to enter your data. Please note that the login process has changed since the cyberattack and can no longer be done using the W-ID. If you have any questions about the new authentication process, please contact us directly atopenscience (at) haw-hamburg (dot) de.
