The closing date for applications has passed. The appointment committee for the professorship is in the process of reviewing all applications submitted. Candidates invited to trial lectures

The appointment committee has drawn up the list of candidates who will receive an invitation to give a trial lecture and notified these candidates.
Trial lectures complete

All those invited to give trial lectures have done so. The appointment committee is evaluating the candidates’ performance and will meet to draw up a shortlist in order of preference, which generally consists of three candidates.
Shortlist complete

The appointment committee has drawn up the shortlist and will submit it to the faculty committee charged with agreeing upon the appointment. This committee will then pass the matter to HAW Hamburg senior leadership, which will take the final decision.

The relevant bodies in the faculty and HAW Hamburg senior leadership are making the final decision on the shortlist. The Executive Board of HAW Hamburg will notify the successful candidate.
Successful candidate notified

The successful candidate has received notification of the result of the appointment procedure, in line with the ranking on the shortlist. The candidate and the President of HAW Hamburg will now enter into the process of discussing and agreeing the details of the appointment.
Appointment complete

The successful candidate has confirmed in writing to the President of HAW Hamburg that she or he accepts the professorship. All other applicants have been notified of the successful candidate’s name, the date of the successful candidate’s taking up the professorship and, where applicable, their own position on the shortlist.

The successful candidate has taken up their professorship at HAW Hamburg.
Procedure concluded without appointment

HAW Hamburg has declined to appoint a candidate to the professorship. All applicants have been notified of this decision.
