The Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management Research and Transfer Centre (FTZ-NK) at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences as well as the University of The Gambia are pleased to invite African climate change experts and stakeholders from other parts of the world working on matters related to climate change in Africa to attend the Final Virtual Conference for the project 'Climate Change and Land-use Management in The Gambia' (CCLUM), funded by the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF) in its dedicated programme line Research for Sustainability (FONA).
Research on determinants of land-use change and its relation to biodiversity, ecosystem services as well as to climate change is at an early stage in the republic of the Gambia. At present, there is a lack of data, which acts as a barrier to fully exploiting the potential of sustainable land-use management in the context of climate change. This has been addressed by the project 'Climate Change and Land-use Management in The Gambia' (CCLUM). Between January and June 2021, the international consortium focussed on an analysis of the potential of existing – and possibly future – land-use approaches within the Gambian agricultural landscape. In the framework of the online conference, the project team will present the results of the investigation of land-use approaches and its impacts on relevant socio-economic indicators.
Participation in the CCLUM Final Virtual Conference is free of charge. If you wish to attend the online conference, please complete the online registration form below. Online registrations will close on 25 June 2021.
