Course content and skills

The core study (1st-3rd semester) provides you with the necessary mathematical, scientific and technical foundations.
The in-depth study (4th - 7th semester) allows you to deepen, expand, and apply your knowledge in a practice-oriented manner.
You can choose from a wide range of electives to specialise in the following fields:
- Product Development and Product Lifecycle
- Design (e.g. Modelling and Simulation, Vehicle Dynamics)
- Manufacturing (e.g. Additive Manufacturing, Robotics)
- Digitalisation (e.g. Cyber Physical Production Systems)
- Sustainable Energy
- Software Applications
- Ethics in Engineering
The internship (three months period) provides you with valuable industry contacts for the upcoming entry into working life. The Bachelor's thesis strengthens your academic background.
Your interests and skills

A strong interest in mathematical and scientific subjects is a prerequisite for the degree programme. Very good or good grades in the relevant scientific school subjects are just as important as the ability to think abstractly and analytically.
Personal qualities such as self-discipline and self-organisation are conducive to academic and professional success. Practical experience and skills in the fields of technical drawing, metalworking, electronics, mechatronics and/or programming are a great advantage.

Did you complete your secondary education outside Germany?
- If you want to do your bachelor's degree in Germany, you need an academic qualification that corresponds to the German Abitur or Fachhochschulreife. Here you will find all the information for international prospective students.
The following applies to all applicants:
- You are required to provide proof of proficiency in English at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference
- You are not required to have completed pre-course experience for this course.

You can apply directly for this course if you hold one of the following qualifications:
- Fachhochschulreife
- Allgemeine Hochschulreife
- Fachgebundene Hochschulreife (subject-specific HE entrance qualification)
