We want to support our students and prospective students to fulfil their potential with us. This is why we are working, both within and beyond HAW Hamburg, to give students who have disabilities or long-term health conditions the best possible experience and opportunities.

Disabilities and long-term health conditions take many forms. They may be mental health difficulties, chronic physical conditions, specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), sensory or motor disabilities. In most cases, you can’t tell if someone has a disability or long-term health condition just by looking at them.

We provide advice and support to prospective and current students, as well as advising members of HAW Hamburg staff who wish to become more aware of and responsive to the specific needs of students with disabilities or long-term health conditions.

We have updated our webseite ‘Degree study with a mental health condition: can I do it, and if so, how?’ and added more topics in English.

We want to help reduce the stigma around mental health conditions, raise awareness and point the way to sources of help and support within and beyond higher education institutions. The information on this website is aimed at prospective and current students and staff at higher education institutions.
