Enrolment
................................................................................................................................................................................................
HAW Hamburg expressly welcomes doctoral students to enrol. It is possible to enrol at both HAW Hamburg and the partner university.
When you enrol you become a member of HAW Hamburg and are covered by the insurance for university members. You also receive a semester ticket that allows you to use buses, the metro, and regional trains in the Hamburg public transit area (zones A to E).
The first step to enrolling at HAW Hamburg is to complete an online form. The Graduate Centre is happy to send you the link.
You also need to submit the following documents to the Graduate Centre:
- Signed declaration of acceptance, which will be completed after the online form has been submitted
- Copy of your personal ID card / passport
- Certified copy of your higher education entrance qualification (Abitur or other)
- Bank transfer receipt for semester contribution
- Up-to-date written proof of health insurance coverage
- Evidence of previous studies (Bachelor's and Master's certificates, certificate demonstrating termination of enrolment)
- Letter of acceptance from the partner university (to be submitted within six months of enrolment at HAW Hamburg)
Once the Graduate Centre has received all of the documents, it will pass them on to the Student Admissions and Registration Office for the final stage of processing.
