HAW Hamburg expressly welcomes doctoral students to enrol. It is possible to enrol at both HAW Hamburg and the partner university. When you enrol you become a member of HAW Hamburg and are covered by the insurance for university members. You can find out more about current fees, re-registration deadlines and the Deutschland-Ticket on the Student Services website.
Specific information on the requirements and the enrolment process can be found on the page for prospective PhD students here.
Supervision agreement
................................................................................................................................................................................................
The Centre for Postgraduate Studies recommends that all PhD candidates enter into a supervision agreement with their PhD supervisor at HAW Hamburg.
The templates for collaborative PhD candidates are currently being revised. The Word templates for the supervision agreement in German or English that are still valid can be downloaded from the ‘Forms for collaborative PhD candidates’ page.
PhD candidates studying under independent doctoral programmes can find an up-to-date template for the supervision agreement here.
In addition, there are information sheets on industrial PhDs and on the security and storage of data (in German only).
Upon request, the CPS will be happy to provide the templates and information sheets by email, provided that an agreement has already been reached regarding supervision by a professor at HAW Hamburg.
