Professor Walter Leal receives another honorary doctorate

Prof. Dr. (mult.), Dr. h.c. (mult.) Walter Leal, Head of the Research and Transfer Centre ‘Sustainability and Climate Impact Management’ (FTZ-NK) at HAW Hamburg, has been awarded the title of Doctor honoris causa by the Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL) in Brazil for his research on sustainable development.

Prof. Dr Baltazar Guerra from the Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL) in Brazil presented Prof. Dr Leal with an honorary doctorate.

UNISUL is an established and prestigious university with around 31,000 students, spread across various locations in the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil. Prof. Walter Leal: ‘I feel very honoured by this award, which is further international recognition for the work we do here at HAW Hamburg. It also motivates me to continue my work at the interface of sustainability and climate.’

This is the ninth honorary doctorate awarded to Prof. Dr Walter Leal, following similar honorary doctorates from universities in Europe and South America.
