Summer schools and short-term programmes

Short-term programmes are one- to four-week teaching offers at a university which are mostly offered in the lecture-free period in summer. This is why they are called summer schools. However, there are also offers that take place in winter or summer.

These courses are a sort of 'study abroad lite' and cover very diverse topics. Tuition fees are usually charged for these courses.

Please contact the chair of your faculty's examinations committee to determine whether the credits you earn in short-term courses can be recognised as credits at HAW Hamburg.

If you have found a programme that interests you, please apply directly to the university that offers it with the necessary documents. These usually include a cover letter, your CV and a transcript of your grades. You can find the exact details on the website of the university offering the course.
