Process engineering – innovation for the future

Whether the issue is energy and resource shortages, climate change, environmental pollution, or the challenges facing the farming and food sectors, process engineering skills play a key role in the development of new technologies that can be used to solve today's problems.

Well over half of all industrial products are manufactured with a strong reliance on engineered systems. Process engineers take on tasks in research and development, planning and construction, operations and production, marketing and service, teaching and training, patents and software development.

Process engineers develop, implement and operate manufacturing processes which produce high-quality products with specified properties from raw materials. We need process engineering to solve the urgent problems of the future, whether we're dealing with the use of renewable raw materials, recycling processes, emissions and wastewater treatment, soil remediation, waste recycling, environmental protection or food technology.
