Here you can find descriptions of some of the many student projects and initiatives at HAW Hamburg.
The Bünte Hände (Colourful Hands) intiative, run by HAW Hamburg's Centre for Migration Research and Integration Practice, provides assistance to students with a refugee background and to international students, with the aim of helping them succeed at their studies. It offers language tandems, a writing workshop, a selection of socially integrative leisure activities and a multilingual peer-to-peer programme.
Since the 2019 summer semester, students have also been able to expand their knowledge of the programming languages C, C++, Java and Ruby in various languages (Arabic, German, English). Bünte Hände also advises gifted refugees at Hamburg's high schools about study opportunities.
HAWKS Racing e.V. is the HAW Hamburg's Formula Student team. The team develops and builds racing cars, entering them in the events of the Formula Student – the largest international car-construction competition for students.
