2 November 2018: First delivery of an Airbus A321neo (ZK-NNA) to Air New Zealand. Take-off from Hamburg-Finkenwerder (EDHI). Flight: 26 h, 19 min via Muscat (Oman), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Cairns (Australien) to Auckland (New Zealand).

Dipl.-Ing. Joachim Illenberger, MSc, Head of Flight Test Operations Hamburg, Airbus

The Airbus A320 Family has been one of the most successful airliner in the world for years. In 2023, 571 units were delivered to customers globally. The Hamburg production site plays a large part in this. During the approximately 15-day preparation phase before delivery to customers, the aircraft are put through their paces by a small team of test pilots, flight test and ground test engineers. Airbus flight test engineer Joachim Illenberger leads the flight test team in Hamburg and he also regularly takes part in test flights himself. In his lecture he presents the flight test program for the A320 Family.
