The workshop is designed for intermediate as well as advanced users of English who wish to improve the quality of their academic writing. The focus will be on correcting your own work and providing constructive feedback in the context of peer evaluations. The workshop will address the most common sources of errors in writing and best practices for avoiding them, useful online resources and practical exercises in text correction that will be conducted individually, in pairs or in groups.
Leitung: Marek Herter
Marek Herter is a lecturer for technical and academic English with degrees in English Philology and Computer Engineering. He has collected more than two decades of corporate and academic English teaching experience in Europe and Asia including as a trainer in aviation, information technology, medical, defence, automotive, banking, energy and maritime industries. He is a technical translator and proof-reader as well as a former interpreter for public events. He has offered Academic English workshops at the HAW for PhD candidates / postdocs since 2019.
