The workshop is designed for intermediate as well as advanced learners who wish to review and improve their knowledge of the most commonly used structures of the English language in everyday communication as well as academic writing. The workshop is divided into an intensive review of grammatical structures and practical exercises that take into account the current level of knowledge of the participants. The exercises are carried out in pairs and groups to check the correct understanding and application of the rules covered. The workshop also covers strategies for recognising the most common mistakes in speaking and writing and how to avoid them.
Leitung: Marek Herter
Marek Herter is a lecturer for technical and academic English with degrees in English Philology and Computer Engineering. He has collected more than two decades of corporate and academic English teaching experience in Europe and Asia including as a trainer in aviation, information technology, medical, defence, automotive, banking, energy and maritime industries. He is a technical translator and proof-reader as well as a former interpreter for public events. He has offered Academic English workshops at the HAW for PhD candidates / postdocs since 2019.
