5th Workshop on Integration of Local Energy Systems

Focus: Modern Methods & Tools for Operation of Energy Systems
Date: October 7, 2026, Hamburg
The workshop brings together industry practitioners and academic researchers to discuss current challenges in operating multi-energy systems and solutions from control engineering and operations research. Prof. Frank Allgöwer (University of Stuttgart), former president of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) and former vice president of the German Research Foundation (DFG), will give a keynote on nonlinear predictive control, highlighting data-driven methods for applications and new results from his current Reinhart Koselleck Project.
We will address the sizing and operation of local multi-energy systems and their integration into networks, especially involving electrolyzers and wind farms, from both technical and market perspectives. A strong focus will be placed on tools.
Guest speakers will present their work, fostering discussions and creating networking opportunities.
