Al-Ismail felt he needed to gain more knowledge about the industry after completing his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He came to Germany to increase his chances of working here after his studies. The HAW Hamburg was the only university he found, that had the major he wanted to study. What makes his studies enjoyable and challenging is the fact that he can apply what he has learnt practically.
Al-Ismail’s family is his backbone and they have always supported him throughout his schooling and his studies. He is very grateful for their help. He is also very proud of his sister who is studying a bachelor’s in Business Information Technology. Al-Ismail takes his inspiration to become a better person from his role models who are his friends and family with their different experiences.
The Deutschlandstipendium would allow Al-Ismail to enjoy his life a little bit more. Saving a bit is also important to him. Holding a scholarship is an honour and a great personal achievement for him that hopefully reflects his efforts during his study and work life.
Currently Al-Ismail works in part-time. He likes to draw during his free time. His goal for this year is to do well in his studies, although he says balancing work and study life is a little bit difficult, especially at the beginning. He claims that time-management is the key for a good balance.
Al-Ismail‘s wish is to keep improving himself, finish his studies and improve his German language competencies. He hopes to settle in Germany.
