Launch of the Research Programme

The rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents unique opportunities and challenges in addressing global issues related to sustainable development, and to addressing global problems such as climate change. Against this background, the Research and Transfer Centre "Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management" at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, which has led some previous works in this field, such as:

has conceived the research programme "Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development and Climate Change". As the title suggests, the new programme will investigate the extent to which AI may be used insupporting activities in the field of sustainable development and climate change. By setting-up a network and thematic working groups of colleagues working in this field, we hope to create a new momentum, to better use the potentials of AI in teaching, research and in outreach programmes on matters related to sustainable development and climate change.

The scheme will be launched at an on-line event, to be held on Tuesday, 18th March 2025 from 12:00 to 13:00 Central European Time. Persons interested to attend the event should send an Expression of interest, by filling in this form: https://forms.office.com/e/meH6Gw1Aa5

Those colleagues who register will be sent the link to the event, during which the details on the research programme "Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development and Climate Change" will be communicated, and cooperation opportunities may be outlined. The deadline for registrations is 14th March 2025.
